Benefits of Pomegranate
A pomegranate contains hundreds of seeds/arils which are the edible part of the fruit. The benefits of the fruit and its juice are amazing. I’ve included a few below.
- One serving contains 40% daily requirement of Vitamin C
- Aids in digestion
- Anti-inflammatory benefits and arthritic relief
- Protects heart and arteries
- Daily consumption can lower blood pressure
- Anti-viral benefits
- Aids in strength recovery and reduces soreness
- Daily consumption can improve learning and memory
Yield: 2 (times by 3 for a pitcher)
- 4 1/2 oz 100% pomegranate juice
- 3 oz vodka
- 3 oz natural ginger beer – no added sugar
- Lime juice to taste
- 1 – 2 tbsp arils
- Optional: rosemary swigs, sliced lime
The cocktail comes together quickly and easily. In a cocktail mixing glass or in a pitcher – filled with ice, mix together the pomegranate juice, vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice. Pour contents – sans ice – into desired coupe glass and add arils. Garnish with a sprig or two of rosemary and lime slices. Short and sweet instructions!
Ginger Sugar Rim
Are you feeling fancy? To really add the festive flourish, rim the coupe glasses with a combination of turbinado sugar and grated ginger. Beautiful and tasty!
- 2 tsp turbinado sugar
- 1 tsp grated ginger
On a small saucer, combine the turbinado sugar and grated ginger. Wet the rim of the glasses with water or lime juice and turn rim-side down into sugar mixture to evenly coat and line the glasses.
Prefer a mocktail?
Eliminate the vodka from the drink without any issue. Feel free to add club soda or lime sparkling water in place of vodka when serving.Print
